A few days ago, my car started experiencing power loss during acceleration, strange noises, unstable idle, stalling when decelerating, and occasionally a metallic knocking sound. I replaced the idle air control (IAC) valve, the intake manifold pressure sensor, cleaned the throttle body, fuel injectors, and spark plugs, but the problems persisted. Eventually, the car stalled and wouldn't restart, so I had it towed to a repair shop.
Upon inspection, the cylinder compression was normal, the fuel system was fine, the ignition was working, and the air intake was clear. The only remaining suspect was the timing chain, but replacing it would involve a significant amount of work since it requires removing the engine head.
After opening the cylinder head cover and inspecting the timing chain, we found that the chain was too loose and the tensioner had reached its limit. The chain had jumped teeth, causing the timing to be off.
We replaced the timing chain and tensioner. After reassembling the engine, the car performed perfectly. The power came back, the noise decreased, and the idle became stable. It feels like a whole new world!
Has anyone else experienced something similar? My car had 60,000 kilometers on it.

### Summary:
- **Symptoms**: Power loss during acceleration, strange noises, unstable idle, stalling when decelerating, occasional metallic knocking sound.
- **Initial Repairs**: Replaced the idle air control valve, intake manifold pressure sensor, cleaned the throttle body, fuel injectors, and spark plugs.
- **Diagnosis**: Cylinder compression, fuel system, ignition, and air intake were all normal. Timing chain was suspected due to loose chain and misalignment.
- **Solution**: Replaced the timing chain and tensioner.
- **Outcome**: Improved performance, quieter operation, stable idle.
If you're still unsure about the repairs or need further advice, it might be helpful to consult with a trusted mechanic who can provide a professional diagnosis and recommendations.
